Overview of the Seasonic VERTEX Line

Why Choose VERTEX for 2025 Builds

Seasonic VERTEX PSUs are the right choice for those who appreciate high-performance builds and stable PC operation. Here’s why.

The VERTEX (GX/PX) series is designed with all modern standards in mind. It is compatible with ATX 3.0/3.1 and equipped with 12V-2×6 or 12VHPWR cables for the latest graphics cards (RTX 40-50 series).

VERTEX models come with a fully modular system that optimizes cable management. The latest versions have less rigid cables, which improve flexibility.

VERTEX GX Series is 80 PLUS® Gold certified, which means ≈90% efficiency at maximum system load. For instance, Seasonic VERTEX GX-1000 is a smart move to start using this series. The PX Series is 80 PLUS® Platinum certified (≈91-93% efficiency). Tests have confirmed low noise levels (Cybenetics A-rating, ~20-25 dB(A)) even under high loads.

In addition, VERTEX models come with a 12-year warranty from Seasonic, a set of protections (OVP, OCP, UVP, OPP, SCP, OTP), and strict voltage regulation to ±0.5%. The VERTEX PSUs are cooled by a 135 mm FDB fan and a Hybrid Silent Fan Control system.

Key Upgrades: ATX 3.1, PCIe 5.1 & 12V-2×6

In 2025, Seasonic updated the VERTEX series to comply with the latest standards – ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1. Due to these changes, the VERTEX PSUs became the best choice for high-performance systems with modern GPUs.

The ATX 3.1 standard, introduced by Intel, improves power stability, reduces voltage hold time requirements from 17 to 12 ms. On top of that, it supports modern graphics cards with high peak loads.

PCIe 5.1 provides up to 600W of power through a single 12V-2×6 cable, which is a safer and more advanced replacement for the previous 12VHPWR. Now, every PC and VERTEX power supply owner can be confident that their system is protected from overheating and failures.

The new Seasonic VERTEX GX ATX 3.1 power supplies are fully compatible with these standards. They are equipped with native 12V-2×6 cables that have reliable thermal protection and correct connection sensors.

PX vs GX vs GX White vs Sakura

Core Technologies Inside VERTEX Line

Micro Tolerance Load Regulation (< 0.5 %)

Micro Tolerance Load Regulation technology is used in the Seasonic VERTEX GX ATX 3.1 series. It keeps the output voltage within very narrow limits – less than ±0.5% of the nominal value. This indicator significantly exceeds the ATX standard, which allows deviations of up to ±3% or even ±5%. The huge advantage that the Micro Tolerance Load Regulation technology provides.

This is especially important when using high-performance systems with low tolerance for deviations. Seasonic VERTEX GX ATX 3.1 PSU is best-suited for modern builds with powerful GPUs, such as the RTX series.

Digital Hybrid Fan Control Curve

The Seasonic VERTEX series (GX, PX, Sakura) is equipped with an innovative Digital Hybrid Fan Control system. In simple terms, it’s a digital fan control that optimizes noise levels in different operating modes. At low loads, the fan can be completely turned off (Fanless Mode) and gradually turned back on as the thermal load increases.

In practice, user reviews confirm that Hybrid Mode provides quiet operation in idle or light task modes. In Normal Mode, the fan runs continuously but may have quieter, smoother rotation when conditions change. This way it ensures perfect conditions for all the tasks the PC handles.

The Digital Hybrid Fan Control technology in the Seasonic VERTEX PSU Series strikes a balance between quietness, fan life, and efficient cooling.

Protection Suite (OCP / OVP / SCP / OTP / OPP)

The Seasonic VERTEX series is equipped with a full set of protections.

As follows:

  1. Over Current Protection (OCP)
  2. Over Voltage Protection (OVP)
  3. Under Voltage Protection (UVP)
  4. Over Power Protection (OPP)
  5. Short Circuit Protection (SCP)
  6. Over Temperature Protection (OTP)

Together, they protect the system from peak loads to unexpected equipment failures. This approach to protection makes the VERTEX PSU series a safe and reliable choice for modern, powerful assemblies.

Premium Components & 12-Year Warranty

The VERTEX GX series uses high-quality Japanese capacitors from Nippon Chemi-Con, Nichicon, and Rubycon. In addition, popular APFC (CM6500UNX), PWM (EM8569C), and protection controller (WT7527RA) controllers are also used. This mix of components ensures the longevity of the VERTEX PSU and stable operation under heavy loads.

All VERTEX series units (GX / PX / White) come with a 12-year global warranty from Seasonic. This update also applies to all units already sold. Without exaggerations, this is the longest warranty period on the market, confirming Seasonic’s high confidence in the durability of its power supplies.

For the power supply to work efficiently and to avoid malfunctions, both 12V-2×6 connectors must be fully inserted and locked (click-lock). Make sure there are no bends near the connectors to ensure safe and stable operation of the PSU and PC components.

Native 12V-2×6 cables are compatible with all VERTEX GX / PX / GX White / Sakura models with a power rating of 650W and above. They are not compatible with older series units (ATX 2.x) and low-power models (<650W).

Thanks to strict installation and backward compatibility requirements, Seasonic provides a high level of safety and reliability for powerful modern PC builds.

Dimensions & Acoustic Profile

The VERTEX GX 1000W and GX 1200W models’ dimensions are approximately 150 mm × 160 mm × 85 mm (or 160 mm × 150 mm × 86 mm). They weigh around 1.85–1.96 kg. This is a compact case for ATX performance with support for a full-size 135 mm fan.

VERTEX Series PSUs have low noise levels. According to Cybenetics, noise is within 20–25 dBA (~A-rated) for the PX-1000 and GX-1000 under typical load. Even at 80-100% load, fan noise is often overshadowed by other components (case fans, GPU). Therefore, the overall noise perception remains low.

Seasonic VERTEX GX / PX are power supplies with a compact case (~150 × 160 × 85 mm) and a weight of ≈ 1.9 kg. They combine the best characteristics they can have. Like, hybrid cooling mode, very quiet operation (up to ~25 dBA under typical loads), and less than 37 dBA under maximum load.

These characteristics make VERTEX the ideal choice for high-performance builds where both compactness and acoustic comfort are important.
