Full Bridge LLC & DC-to-DC Topology

At Seasonic, we use Full-Bridge LLC topology in our prime, high-performance power supplies. It is particularly effective in the PRIME and FOCUS PSU series. Supporting 80 PLUS® Platinum and Titanium certifications.

The work principle is as follows. On the primary side (input), we use a Full-Bridge + LLC-resonant circuit. It provides soft switching and high efficiency while reducing heat loss. 

On the secondary side, we use synchronous rectifiers (for +12 V rails) and DC-DC converters for 5 V and 3.3 V lines. This helps save more energy and keeps the output voltage more stable.

Thus, the Full-Bridge LLC topology in Seasonic’s premium PC power supplies helps achieve maximum efficiency, stability, and effective thermal management. Secondary DC-DC converters help keep the voltage steady, and the vertical layout makes the system quieter and easier to use for every PC enthusiast.

Seasonic Hybrid Silent Fan Control

Seasonic Hybrid Silent Fan Control is an intelligent fan control system in premium power supplies. It lets every PC enthusiast achieve the optimal balance between cooling and noise levels. 

The system operates in three modes: Fanless mode (during low load, the fan stays still), Silent mode (the fan rotates at minimum speed), and Cooling mode (high rotation speed at high system load or elevated temperature). 

This ensures quiet operation during normal PC use. Say, when you’re not running anything heavy, but have regular work. And under increased loads, the system provides effective cooling for PC components. With this approach, components last longer and users feel more comfortable if they value quiet operation.

Premium Japanese Capacitors in Seasonic Power Supplies

Tight Voltage Regulation & Ripple Suppression

Tight Voltage Regulation is the ability to keep the voltage as stable as possible, even when the load changes. In Seasonic’s top-of-the-line PRIME power supplies, the voltage deviation on the 12V line usually does not exceed ±0.5%. 

Ripple Suppression is the minimization of noise and fluctuations at the output during PC operation. In Seasonic PSUs, the ripple level on the 12V line is usually less than 20 mV. While the standard allows up to 120 mV. This ensures stable and quiet operation of sensitive components, like the CPU and GPU.

80 PLUS® Certification (Gold, Platinum, Titanium)

Seasonic joined the 80 PLUS® certification program right from the company’s start. We released our first certified power supply in 2005. Today, our products have the highest certification categories – Gold, Platinum, and Titanium. They are represented in the PRIME and FOCUS lines and demonstrate the highest efficiency ratings, up to ≈92–96%. 

80 PLUS® certification gives a sense of stable and high-productive operation. While providing less heat loss and decreasing the load on the fan control system. The higher the certification level, the more effective PC work you get. 

Cybenetics Ratings (Efficiency / Noise)

At Seasonic, we have Cybenetics-certified power supplies. It evaluates not only PSU energy efficiency (ETA) but also the noise level (LAMBDA). This provides our customers with a clearer understanding of the PSU’s quality.

Seasonic PRIME TX-1300 PSU received the highest ETA Titanium rating (91–93% efficiency) and LAMBDA A++ for very low noise levels (less than 15 dB). The FOCUS GX-850 model (ATX v3.1 version) has ETA Platinum (~91.3%) and LAMBDA A– (~28 dB). For users who are sensitive to these indicators, it’s a powerful tool and a quiet solution at the same time.

At Seasonic, we take a comprehensive approach to testing our PSUs. To get more accurate results, we combine in-house and third-party lab testing procedures.

In-house testing includes checking the voltage stability, efficiency, noise levels, and other features. During these tests, we can spot potential issues early and ensure high quality of our products before release.

Third-party lab testing procedures are used to confirm compliance with international standards. That is why Seasonic works with independent laboratories such as Cybenetics. This certification rates efficiency (ETA) and noise (LAMBDA), giving users more insight into product quality.

Global Safety Certifications (UL, CB, CE, TUV)

Seasonic power supplies undergo straight and detailed testing to ensure compliance with international safety standards. Including UL, CB, CE, and TUV certification. They confirm the devices were tested by independent labs and meet safety standards for electricity, short circuits, overheating, and fire.

Real-World Testing Data: Load, Thermals, Noise

All models provide high efficiency under various loads. For example, the FOCUS GX-1000 achieves an average efficiency of 92.1% at 230 V. The PRIME line demonstrates a high level of energy efficiency – over 90-94% depending on the model and load.

The power supplies are equipped with fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) fans for quiet operation and efficient cooling. The VERTEX GX-850 features a 135 mm FDB fan for quiet operation under heavy loads.
