Establishing the PRIME Standard for High-Performance Power Supplies

Since its launch in 2016, the Seasonic PRIME series has been positioned as a high-reliability power solution for high-performance systems. From the outset, PRIME was designed with stability and long-term performance as core objectives, relying on premium components and carefully engineered power architectures to deliver consistent and dependable output for demanding use cases.
As the flagship model of the series, the PRIME TX-1600 represents the result of years of accumulated design experience and continuous refinement by Seasonic’s R&D team. Operating at up to 1600 W, it maintains Titanium-grade efficiency while meeting strict internal targets for voltage regulation and ripple control. These characteristics allow the unit to handle highly dynamic load behavior, in line with — and beyond — modern ATX platform requirements.
Backed by a 12-year warranty, the PRIME series reflects Seasonic’s focus on durability, controlled operating behavior, and long-term product support.
PRIME TX-1600 Becomes the First Retail PC Power Supply with CQC Level 5 Certification
Building on this technical foundation, the Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 has reached an important milestone by becoming the first retail PC power supply to achieve CQC (China Quality Certification Center) Level 5 energy efficiency certification.
In addition to its Titanium certifications from 80 PLUS and Cybenetics, the PRIME TX-1600 demonstrates conversion efficiency exceeding 95%, confirming both high peak efficiency and consistent performance across validated production conditions.

What Is CQC Level 5 Energy Efficiency Certification?
The CQC embedded power supply energy efficiency certification system is structured across seven levels, from Level 1 to Level 7. Level 5 represents the highest grade currently attainable for retail power supplies.
Unlike efficiency-only programs, CQC certification also evaluates:
- Product consistency
- Reliability of key components
- Manufacturing and quality-control processes
The certification process includes audits of R&D practices, testing methodologies, production equipment, and long-term quality systems. As a result, CQC Level 5 certification reflects not only efficiency performance, but also overall product maturity and manufacturing discipline.

Engineering Foundations Behind PRIME TX-1600’s CQC Level 5 Certification
The PRIME TX-1600 is built around several key engineering principles that support its efficiency and stability targets.
Optimized Power Architecture
The internal power architecture based on a bridgeless interleaved active rectification is designed to minimize conversion losses at the circuit level, enabling sustained Titanium-grade efficiency even under high and continuous output conditions.

Premium Component Selection
Critical components are sourced from established semiconductor suppliers such as Infineon and Texas Instruments, and paired with 105 °C-rated Japanese electrolytic and solid capacitors. This component strategy supports predictable electrical behavior and long-term reliability under demanding load profiles.
Thermal Design and SDP Smart Dual Protection
An improved thermal layout allows the platform to sustain high output while keeping operating temperatures under control. SDP (Smart Dual Protection) combines fast hardware-level response with firmware-based control to provide layered protection against abnormal operating conditions, helping maintain stable behavior during load transients and extended operation.

Together, these design elements allow the PRIME TX-1600 to deliver consistent and controlled power for professional workstations and AI-oriented computing systems — capabilities now formally recognized through CQC Level 5 energy efficiency certification.
PRIME Enterprise: Extending the PRIME Platform Toward Professional and AI Systems

As computing workloads continue to evolve, particularly in AI and professional environments, power supply requirements increasingly emphasize long-term stability, predictable behavior, and adaptability to sustained high loads.
In response, Seasonic is preparing the PRIME ENTERPRISE series. Built on the established PRIME platform, PRIME Enterprise is designed specifically for AI computing, professional workstations, and systems that operate continuously under heavy and variable loads.
The series will integrate technologies developed within the PRIME platform, including OptiGuard™ intelligent connector protection, SDP Smart Dual Protection, and OptiSink™ thermal conduction technology. Combined with system-level electrical and thermal optimizations, these features are intended to reduce sensitivity to transient load behavior and support stable long-term operation.
With PRIME Enterprise, Seasonic extends the PRIME design philosophy beyond the enthusiast segment, applying it to professional and enterprise-class power platforms designed for next-generation high-computer systems.
