Why is OptiGuard™ Needed?
As modern graphics cards demand ever-higher power levels, reliable delivery has become essential for safety. Uneven current distribution, poor electrical contact, or localized overheating at the connectors can cause instability or even damage.
OptiGuard™ was developed to address these challenges head-on with a dedicated system-level safety layer between the power supply and the graphics card, designed specifically for high-power, high-density GPU configurations.
What Is OptiGuard™?
OptiGuard™ is Sea Sonic’s patented intelligent protection system that continuously monitors current and temperature directly at the GPU power connection, where electrical stress is highest.
Using high-precision sensors, the system analyzes power delivery in real time and is able to detect:
- Abnormal electrical loads
- Current imbalance across individual power pins
- Localized temperature increases at the connector level
This proactive monitoring allows OptiGuard™ to respond early, before issues escalate into system instability or hardware damage.
Pin-Level Monitoring at the 12V-2×6 Connector
OptiGuard™ features pin-level current monitoring on each 12V-2×6 connector, enabling precise real-time power analysis without relying on additional sensing components inside the cable.
